Mganga wa Mapenzi is based in Malindi, a coastal town in Kilifi County on the Kenyan coast. Malindi sits where Swahili coastal life meets the traditional practices of the African interior, and that meeting of cultures has shaped generations of traditional practitioners along this shoreline.

What the name means

In Kiswahili, mganga refers to a traditional healer or practitioner, and mapenzi means love. Mganga wa Mapenzi therefore describes the heart of this work: matters of love, attraction, relationships, marriage and the emotional weight people carry when those areas of life become difficult.

Alongside love and relationship work, consultations also cover traditional spiritual cleansing, spiritual protection, and guidance for people facing personal or business difficulty.

How consultations are conducted

Every consultation begins with listening. You are asked about your circumstances before anything is suggested, because a genuine traditional consultation cannot start from assumptions about a life it has not heard described.

What is never promised

No consultation here will tell you that a particular person will definitely return, that a marriage is guaranteed, that wealth is certain, or that you are cursed. Those claims are used by people who want to frighten you into paying quickly. They are not used here.

What is offered instead is an honest African traditional perspective on your situation, a private conversation about what you are experiencing, and a clear explanation of which traditional practices may or may not be appropriate for you.

Confidentiality

What you share stays between you and Mganga wa Mapenzi. Nobody is contacted on your behalf, your name is never used as an example, and your situation is not discussed with anyone else.
